Kerry and James were set up through mutual friends, but it was more than that…it was destiny. On their first date they discovered how deeply connected they were through multiple friends and previous near-encounters, and how small their worlds became once they connected all the dots. After the first date came the second, third, fourth…and eventually a special date night where James proposed, Kerry said, “Yes,” and they celebrated their engagement with friends at the Hilton Americas-Houston. Their “Scotland meets Texas” wedding at The Petroleum Club of Houston was as unique as it sounds—full of well-thought-out details that paid homage to the bride’s Scottish background, including a bagpiper playing during the ceremony, traditional Scottish dances, kilts, custom-made tartan napkins and the inclusion of Scottish heather in flower arrangements by Darryl & Co. It gets better—Kerry and James tied the knot at the same church where his parents were married almost 40 years ago! To top it off, Kerry’s mother made over 200 shortbread cookies shaped like cowboy boots with a custom Scottish pattern on them—the evening’s sweetest personal touch.
